Monday's winner:

Saint Augustine (3 votes)

Cicero (1 vote)

Augustine moves on to round two. We're losing voters faster than I can steal pears...

Featured commentary:
"Auggie all the way. He may feel bad about it afterwards, but it was worth the blood shed at the time. He's never really been that great at holding back anyway." - Heather

Today's match:

Moses, hero of the Hebrews

Durga, slayer of the buffalo-headed daemon

Second-last fight of round one. Who's got it to make it to the next round? That's up to you, so vote now.

Ooh, tough one. I'm going to have to say Moses, because the whole Exodus thing was pretty darn cool. He's had some practice defeating tough competition: the Pharaoh was seen as divine, and we all know who won their little standoff. He also seems to have had a considerable amount of luck, which never hurts. Don't forget that Moses managed to escape when *God* wanted to kill him (always helps to have a quick-thinking wife). If he can weasel his way out of that, he can outwit and overawe Durga.

But only if he can get Aaron to make the annoucement of his victory. Cuz, you know, Moses hates public speaking.
